"First Edition (stated). 5.5 x 8.25. 262 pages. Usual minor signs of handling and shelfwear - black boards, red title banner with gilt lettering, slightly faded. No Jacket. Binding nice and tight, pages slightly tanned but text very crisp. Owners initials in ink on flyleaf. Very interesting reading about the author's wartime experiences serving with the Board of Economic Warfare. The author says in the foreword : 'Like most students of that fascinating and enigmatic country, I have come to believe in Paul Winterton's rueful dictum: ""There are no experts on Russia- only varying degrees of ignorance.""' A scarce book in the UK, fascinating and historically significant."
